JULY 4TH, 2026 — EVENT RECAP

Free Meals Served

Our biggest Plates of Love event yet — and a day our community will never forget.

Riverside Park — Largest Enclosed Shelter, Findlay, Ohio

I honestly don't even know where to begin.

Today, Plates of Love had the honor of serving 320 FREE meals to members of our community during our 4th of July Community Cookout — and my heart is so incredibly full.

When I started Plates of Love, my dream was simple: to make sure no one had to wonder where their next meal was coming from, and to create a space where our community could come together. Watching hundreds of people laugh, eat, play games, and simply enjoy being together reminded me exactly why I started this mission.

More Than Just a Meal

The community came together for food, fun, and so much more.

Thank You

None of today would have been possible without these incredible people.

👨‍👩‍👧

Mom, Dad (Todd Mathews & Melissa Miles Mathews) & Family

Thank you for being there from start to finish, helping with everything that needed done without ever slowing down.

❤️

Alexis Shaye Gray

Thank you for standing beside me through every bit of the planning, the stress, the last minute store runs, the late nights, and the chaos. You see the work that goes into these events long before anyone else does, and you never stop supporting me, even when things get overwhelming. Thank you for believing in this dream as much as I do and for always being my biggest supporter. I love you more than words can say.

🌟

Carmen Davis & her fiancé

A HUGE thank you for being the absolute best hands-on help we could have asked for. You both jumped in wherever needed, kept things running smoothly, and worked so hard all day long. We truly couldn't have done it without you.

🍖

Jeremy — Uncle Bobby J's Catering

Thank you for helping us cook and making sure we were able to keep up with serving so many people. Your help meant more than you know.

🎨

Sky Rose

Thank you for creating the beautiful banner for today's event. It was one of the first things people saw when they arrived and it helped make everything feel so welcoming and put together. Thank you for sharing your talent and helping bring the vision to life.

Kayla Ann

Thank you for running the hair tinsel station and helping make the day extra special for so many kids — and adults too!

🙌

All of Our Volunteers

Thank you to every volunteer who showed up, worked hard, and poured their hearts into making this event a success. Whether you served food, helped with activities, cleaned up, or simply stepped in wherever needed — you made a difference.

💛

Every Person Who Came Out

Whether you came for a meal, brought your family, participated in activities, donated, or simply stopped by to show support — you are the reason we do this.

320 meals.

That number represents so much more than food. It represents conversations, laughter, full stomachs, families spending time together, children making memories, and a community coming together for one another. This event reminded me that kindness is contagious — and that when a community comes together, incredible things happen.

Thank you for believing in Plates of Love and helping us continue our mission of feeding our community one meal at a time. Here's to serving even more families in the future.

With so much love,

Becca
